Snow Will Fall

Okay, here’s a new piece I just finished. I kind of combined a couple pictures I found to make this. It’s a little darker than my other pieces, but I think it turned out looking nice.

I like listening to music while drawing. Lots of Disney 🙂

First of course, I started with the pencil outline, and started filling it in with colored pencil starting with an important focal point of the art piece:

Happy Birthday Jesus!!!!

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

This year, I was fortunate enough to get a Wacom Intuos Pen tablet. I love it!

First thing I drew: Hermione, of course!

I love the Wacom pen tablet. It’s so easy to use, and feels great. It makes drawing with a mouse feel like drawing with a bar of soap! This thing makes drawing on the computer sooooo much easier.

Disney’s Frozen

Yesterday, my family participated in our tradition of seeing a movie on Thanksgiving day after stuffing our faces with turkey and all the trimmings.

Okay, so one of my biggest dreams is to be an animator or some kind of artist for Disney. I mean, what girl doesn’t want to work for Disney? I don’t think I’ve grown out of being a Disney Princess, and I don’t think I ever will.

(Here’s a quick sketch I did of Elsa and Anna tonight)

Of course, we just had to see Disney’s Frozen. We all loved it! It’s now one of my favorite Disney movies ever. Co-director Jennifer Lee said that the main theme of the film is “the power of love over fear”, and it’s very evident throughout the movie. My mom pointed out this morning that it sounds a lot like 1 John 4:18 which says “perfect love drives out fear”. I love it when movies have a hidden spiritual message weather or not the producers meant to have it there!

Since it’s about two sisters, our family really connected with it, having two girls in the family too. My little sister and I are already listening to the fun soundtrack. I highly recommend it, and I really want to see it again myself!

Fun fact:

Both Elsa and Anna are going to be added to the list of official Disney Princesses!

Watercolor Pencil and Calligraphy Ink

Image
After outlining lightly with pencil, I went over it with a calligraphy pen, adding in shading and details.

Here’s what it looked like after the ink! (Psst… it’s easier than it looks!)
Image
I started to add in color by roughly coloring it with Prismacolor watercolor pencils…

…  and brushing water on it with a small detail brush!

Here’s the finished product! I’m thinking of calling it “Down Friendship Lane”. It was from a picture of my little sister (2nd from the left) and her three best friends. It’s my first try with my new Prismacolor watercolor pencils! They were a good buy!
